Candle care and safety
Our candles are mixed and hand-poured in small batches. While we take the utmost care to maintain quality and consistency, there may be small variations between batches. As we use a blend of soy and coconut soy wax, there may be small imperfections on the side or surface of your candle. This is completely normal and will not affect the performance of your candle.
To ensure the best performance and safety outcomes:
- make sure the wax pool reaches all the way to the edge of the jar on the first burn to prevent tunnelling around the wick – this should take 1-2 hours for the classic size
- straighten and trim the wick to 6mm each time you re-light your candle
- remove any soot build up on the inside of the jar with a damp cloth
- never burn your candle for more than 4 hours
- stop burning when about 1cm of wax remains in the jar
- never move a candle while burning and always place on a heat proof surface
- never turn your back on a lit candle, and don’t place it on bookshelves or near curtains, fans, air ducts, children or animals.
